  Kumon ? Never heard of it!
  That was until September 2017 when I saw it on Facebook. As a single Dad I had slight anxiety over my son's inability to concentrate and focus...I want him to be the best that he can. We tried and tried but he just seemed to drift out at important times and never finished a job. I have other children and this was never an issue. I got told off at the dentist because he had cavities but every time it was teeth clean time he would do anything but get the job done. We had lots of conflicts.
  Kumon was very hard at first. My son got tearful but we persisted and it has had a massive effect.A transformation!
  I have to dedicate about 20 minutes every day to sitting with him and getting his Kumon done. Sometimes it is a challenge. The consequence is that he is focussed in all his jobs and activities and I get feedback from all those involved in his development that makes me glow with pride. The discipline of completing simple activities against the clock has been like a therapy. My son is bright but he needed to learn to focus his mind. He is happy and confident and has a whole new approach to tasks and responsibility. It is as though an ancillary benefit of Kumon is that I can be confident in his Maths and English ability. I am much more impressed with the effect of this discipline on my son ... the person The reading list is stimulating and fun and my son.... the one that couldn't sit still.. enjoys reading !!!
  I believe that KUMON taps into something profound in child development and possibly lacking in our culture.
